Harihari Coastal Walk, Westland Tai Poutini National Park

Read more from

The Harihari Coastal Walk is an easy trail between the Wanganui and Poerua rivers.

The walk forms a loop from the car park, along the Wanganui River to the Tasman Sea, turns south along the beach to the Poerua River mouth and returns via an historic pack track and parts of a bush tramway.

At the seaward end, a boardwalk continues over wetlands to the mudflats and lagoon at the river mouth.

Climb Mt Oneone (56m) for views of the Southern Alps.
