#microchallenge28: Have a brew with a view

Each month, three new #microchallenges are set to add interest and silliness to your kilometres.

These three fun #microchallenges will help you better appreciate your surroundings and have fun on your walks. Our favourite nine #microchallenge completers receive a Walk1200km badge, and the best entry for each challenge receives a prize from our partners.

#microchallenge28: Have a brew with a view

Whether you take a flask of something hot or boil the billy on the side of a track, we want you to share the view youenjoyed with your brew. #microchallenge28

Partner prize: A pair of Bridgedale Midweight Merino Performance Fit socks.

#microchallenge29: Walk the shore

Complete a walk next to water – a lake, the seaside, a river or even a pond – and tell us all about it. #microchallenge29

Partner prize: A $100 Further Faster voucher

#microchallenge30: Show how far you’ve walked by the state of your shoes

Whether you’re just starting your Walk1200km journey or are nearing the end, we’d like to see how far you’ve walked by the state of your shoes – mud, holes, worn soles and all! Photograph your shoes (as nicely as possible please) and post the kilometres you’ve racked up in them. #microchallenge30

Partner prize: A pair of Rab Torque pants worth $239.95!

How to enter

You must be a registered Walk1200km participant to win. Take a photo of yourself completing the challenge (yes, people make a photo more interesting and winsome!) and share it on the Walk1200km Facebook group with a descriptive caption and using the relevant hashtag – e.g. #microchallenge29 – by September 23 (or email entries to walk1200km@lifestylepublishing.co.nz with the relevant hashtag in the subject line and the description in the email). Winners will be published in the November 2024 issue of Wilderness
