Dorice Walmisley stopped for a walk at Fantail Falls on the Haast Pass Highway and found this rock cairn.

Melissa Burbery found this hand-painted rock on Te Marie Toop track in Whanganui National Park, “an absolutely stunning walk, with the largest most abundant, kahikatea, rimu and tawa trees.”

#microchallenge14: Visit a trig

Amy Stonestreet made it to Ruapane trig on Mt Pirongia. “On a clear day there are views of the Waikato for kilometres,” she said.

Kim Vardon found this teeny tiny trig on the Tapu Track between Plimmerton and Pukerua Bay. 

Jennifer Pilbrow did a 12.3km round trip to the summit of Mt Percival near Hanmer to find a toppled-over trig. “An absolute mission, but we nailed it!” she said.
