Parawai Tramping Club members walked a two-day loop over Sugarloaf Pass and back around Lake Sylvan in Mt Aspiring National Park. “It was a fabulous trip with sun and views and wonderful camping at Rockburn shelter,” said Peter Davis (far right).
Peter Stevens cut a mighty path through the snow to reach French Ridge Hut, Mt Aspiring National Park.
Richie Lander and son Josiah enjoyed a mid-winter dash to Mangatepopo Hut, Tongariro National Park.
Hugh Wallis and dad Tim walked to Inwood Lookout for a frozen view over the Richmond Range.
Charlotte Johnstone, Kennedy Stratford and Vanessa Johnson made a good attempt to reach Lake Christabel Hut via the Rough Creek route. “We had to turn back due to deep snow and poor visibility,” said Vanessa.
Charlotte Morley and Hunter Staples climbed a snowy Rainguage Spur to spend a very cold night in Jumbo Hut, Tararua Forest Park.
Nicole Fowler played outdoor Jenga with rock cairns on her way to Speargrass Hut, Nelson Lakes National Park.
Brenda, Georgina, Charlotte and Lauren enjoyed a wet walk to Makatawa Hut in Te Papakura o Taranaki.
Mari van Baarsen and her dog Ella did the low tide-only walk to Elephant Rock, Taranaki.
