October 2023

Walk1200km is returning for 2024, but not when you might have expected it. For the first two years of the challenge, we started it with the October issue. That made sense when we first launched the challenge to coincide with the 30th anniversary of Wilderness. But now, two years in, we’ve decided to launch the 2024 challenge in December. This will give you one month to prepare – physically, mentally, psychologically (and any other -ly you care to mention) – for an official start date of January 1, 2024.

This means the challenge will run for a full calendar year rather than the awkward 2022–2023 timeframe this year.

The December 2023 issue will come with a free Walk1200km progress tracker and loads of inspiring and motivational stories that will set you up for success. So, join us – and thousands of others – in making 2024 the year you became fitter, stronger, healthier, smarter and happier than ever before.
