Hibernation is over. After the Covid ‘storm’ the team at Adventure Consultants is digging out the camp and getting back into the mountains and among the people with whom they share those majestic environments, says general manager Suze Kelly.

“We are excited about our re-start. We look forward to reconnecting with old friends in familiar places and meeting new ones,” she said. “We coped during the past two years by placing our company in hibernation, but with borders reopening around the world we are now able to recommence our international operations.”

Kelly said planning began in May, and the company has been fielding a constant stream of enquiries.

“We have a full European Alps summer season underway, and trips in Nepal will start in September. In Africa we have had groups climbing Kilimanjaro, and we have limited spaces left on our upcoming Aconcagua climbing season in South America. Bookings for spring 2023 Nepal trips are looking strong already.”

This is also good news for the Sherpa Future Fund through which Adventure Consultants supports education for local Nepalese families affected by the 2014 Khumbu Glacier avalanche and the 2015 Nepal earthquake. During the Covid pandemic, the fund supported additional children who had lost parents due to the disease.
