Wild camping on Mt Robert gives breathtaking views of Lake Rotoiti

You can begin the Mount Robert Circuit along Paddy’s Track, which cuts across the mountain’s open face and crosses several scree-filled gullies before climbing to Bushline Hut, where spectacular views of Lake Rotoiti can be appreciated. The hut sits at 1280m and it’s just another 240m to the summit of Mt Robert. Make it a loop by descending the Pinchgut Track, which zigzags down (or up depending on your direction of travel) Mt Robert on a well graded track.
