Plenty of snow should be about in winter, even so this is an easy tramp.

The route follows Cass River past Cass Saddle Hut and over Cass Saddle (1326m) and then drops into Hamilton Creek. From the saddle views to the huts should be possible on fine days. The hut sleeps 20.

Continue on the next day down the Harper River to Cora Lynn Road end, passing several huts en route. This should take about 7hr. A car shuttle is required here to get you back to your car at Grasmere Rd. 13km to Hamilton Hut, 29km from road end to road end.
