Stretch, comfort, plenty of pockets
Minuses
: Drawcord ankle, pricey.

Weight: 390g

Features: This softshell pant is made with a quick-drying stretch-woven nylon fabric. A DWR coating provides water-resistance, pocket zippers are all housed in a fabric ‘garage’, with reinforced hems for durability, a DriClime interior waistband wicks mixture and adds next-to-skin comfort.

Fit: Described as a regular fit, I squeezed myself into a size 30 waist so the pants were a bit tighter than possibly intended. However, the stretch fabric easily accommodated my waistline. The length came to the bottom of my barefoot heel – just right for wearing boots or hiking shoes.

Comfort: The softshell material is comfortable and warm. The pant’s stretchiness is outstanding and makes them comfortable enough to wear all day while wearing a pack or climbing harness.

In use: Though described as a pant for spring conditions, they were warm enough to wear on day hikes in temperatures of 3℃. They adjusted to the contours of my body and provided excellent freedom of movement on-trail and when clambering up hillsides. They were excellent for rock climbing.

Five good-size pockets, including three zippered, provided plenty of capacity to carry items securely and keep hands warm. They are all positioned so that they can be accessed while wearing a pack or a climbing harness. Water beads on the fabric and when it wetted through, the pants dried quickly. The leg hems have a drawcord closure to help prevent trail debris getting inside footwear, but I found this an unnecessary nuisance.

Value: Expensive, but with reinforced stitching and panels they are also a hard-wearing hiking pant.

Verdict: Amazing stretch and comfort makes these pants suitable for a variety of activities.
