#microchallenge37: Find an interesting grave

Each month, three new #microchallenges are set to add interest and silliness to your kilometres.

These three fun #microchallenges will help you to better appreciate your surroundings and have fun on your walks. Our favourite six #microchallenge completers receive a Walk1200km badge, and the best entry for each challenge receives a prize from our partners.

#microchallenge37: Find an interesting grave

Is it in a bizarre location? Is there an odd headstone? A strange name or even the same name as you? Or is there a quirky epitaph? Share your interesting grave and count your lucky stars you’re still alive to record it!

#microchallenge37 Partner prize: A pair of Bridgedale Midweight Merino Performance Fit socks.

#microchallenge38: Record a timelapse

Use your phone’s timelapse setting to record a scene from your walking world. Maybe you can record the sunrise, the ebb and flow of the tide, the movement of clouds, a busy walkway or intersection.

#microchallenge38 Partner prize: A $100 Further Faster voucher!

#microchallenge39: Capture a spider’s work of art

A morning dew-soaked spider web can be an intricate piece of natural art. Can you find one worth photographing?

#microchallenge39 Partner prize:A $100 Back Country Cuisine Voucher

How to enter

You must be a registered Walk1200km participant to win. Take a photo of yourself completing the challenge (yes, people make a photo more interesting and winsome!) and share it on the Walk1200km Facebook group with a descriptive caption and using the relevant hashtag – e.g. #microchallenge37 – by December 20 (or email entries to walk1200km@lifestylepublishing.co.nz with the relevant hashtag in the subject line and the description in the email). Winners will be published in the  March 2025issue of Wilderness.
