What did you get up to last weekend?

Ilze Karukle, Billie Jones and Jake McGowan “found joy stacked high” at Locke Stream Hut in Arthur’s Pass National Park.

Robert Gill enjoyed the most recent issue of Wilderness at the Pinnacles in Coromandel Forest Park.

Thomas, Sophie, James, Charlotte and Matilda Chin had the best day on the Ben Lomond Track.

The Hargreaves family (Gareth, Elaine, Talia and Anja) walked to Jubilee Hut in the Silverpeaks so Gareth could wake up in the mountains on his fiftieth birthday.

Judith Bateup had a three-night stay at Welcome Flat Hut after the Upper Copland Valley Track was closed due to high rainfall. “It was no great hardship,” she said.

Paula, Mark, Erin and Charlie Hamer climbed Key Summit from the Routeburn Track. “A wonderful trip in great weather,” said Paula.

Jesse and Mila were rewarded with incredible 360-degree views after scurrying 1500 metres up Mt Fyffe.

Julie and Iain Malcolm had a fab four days on the Tongariro Northern Circuit with not a drop of rain. “There was a chill wind on the crossing above South Crater, though,” said Julie.

Isabelle and Ewan Fisher tackled the Greenstone Caples Track. “We had all the weather,” said their mother, Hetty. “Snow, sun and rain.”
