Woman believed missing near Kaimai Range track

Missing Mount Maunganui woman Ola Shahin

Police are appealing for information from anyone who has walked the Lindemann Loop Track in the Kaimai Range after a woman went missing in the area.

Police and Search and Rescue volunteers are continuing to search the Lindemann Road bush area of Katikati, Western Bay of Plenty, for missing Mount Maunganui woman Ola Shahin.

Shahin, 24, is believed to be on her own and police have significant concerns for her well-being.

She was last seen driving her vehicle through Katikati township at about 7am on Wednesday, November 22. Her vehicle was later located at the end of Lindemann Road.

Police do not believe she was tramping in the area.

Family and friends are assisting with the search, which is focused on the Kaimai bush at the end of Lindemann Road.

Police have asked the public to avoid using tracks in the Lindemann Road area while the search is underway.

Police are also seeking any information from the public who have seen Shahin’s grey 2006 Toyota Hatchback HZG668 in the Katikati area since yesterday morning.

If you see Shahin, or have seen her since yesterday morning, please contact Tauranga Police on 07 577 4300.
