This month Wilderness launches a new website. We have spent the last few months posting more than 1000 articles, dozens of gear reviews and 360 downloadable trips. We’ve added multimedia capability so you can now listen to our podcasts.
It’s a vast repository of information on New Zealand tramping culture with enough trip ideas to last most people their lifetime.
Visit the website and you will find all the stories and photos that are published in this magazine – even this editorial. We’ve gone as far back as January 2013 and plan to add more magazines from our archive over time.
It is an invaluable resource, and as such we have put a price on it – we can’t simply give all this content away.
The good news for current and future print subscribers is that full digital access, including to the archive, is free with their subscription. So, if you find yourself on a lunch break without your copy of Wilderness, you can browse the website on your phone or computer and continue reading right where you left off.
If you’re a subscriber, I encourage you to give it a go. Head to wildernessmag.co.nz, click ‘Login’ and follow the prompts. (Sign up to the ‘New Issue alert’ email while you’re at it and we’ll email you when a new issue is available to read online.)
If you’re not a subscriber, you can get a free one-week trial to the website by selecting the ‘Free Trial’ tab at the top right of the screen (mobile users select the menu button at top left of screen). Enter your details and the code FTRFJ16. If you like what you see, you can choose to subscribe to the print magazine which includes full digital access, or take out a digital-only subscription to maintain full website access.
