Vicki Steven and the Over Forties Tramping Club in Christchurch enjoyed a sunny day tramp to historic Packhorse Hut on Banks Peninsula. “We are lucky to have such wonderful tramps close at hand,” said Vicki.

Andrew Isbister and his mother Linda, 84, went to Powell Hut for the night. “I’ve been going up to Powell for years, but it was Mum’s first time. She made it up and down with ease, which at that age is pretty cool,” said Andrew.

Alex, 9, and Xavier Sim, 6, ticked off their latest family-friendly overnighter – Lake Daniells. “It got a solid thumb’s up from the boys, who are working up to doing a multi-day hike,” said mum Michelle.

Emmy Langridge, 8, and father Sam tackled some of the more technical terrain on a family day tramp to Lake Marian in Fiordland National Park.

Jessica Gadd, Tash Jones, Bronwyn Muller and David Muller went on their first family hike together, to the Pinnacles in the Coromandel Range.

Carolien van Reekum and Keith Coughtrey celebrated reaching the top of Mt Patriarch in Kahurangi National Park.

Michael Hendriks had a perfect day walking Bealey Spur and had a stunning views of Arthur’s Pass. “It’s one of the best day walks in the area with those outstanding views,” he said.
