A far off Mt Egmont/Taranaki viewed from Mt Ruapehu. Photo: Joshua Windsor

In clear conditions the views afforded from the lofty regions of Tongariro National Park are sublime. This shot of Mt Taranaki at sundown was taken while hiking back to the Turoa car park after a day spent rock climbing at White Falls, on the slopes of Mt Ruapehu.

Camera settings Canon EOS 60D, f/10, 1.3sec, ISO100.
