Curiosity had me stumble upon this beautiful ravine in Mt Aspiring National Park and just off the Haast Highway. I noticed the narrow opening of a small stream which joined Haast River 1km south of Fantail Falls. After cautiously following only a couple of snaking turns, the ravine opened up to reveal this magical scene. Soon after taking the photo, a few individuals kitted out in some serious canyoning equipment waded downstream towards me.
