Brewster Hut is ideal for fit trampers looking for an alpine challenge. From SH6, the track ascends steadily through beech forest and above the bushline. The hut is located next to a small tarn off the side of the main ridge.

Aspiring mountain goats will be in their element here – the track ascends 1000m over the length of the 2.6km track.

The nearby Mt Armstrong makes a worthwhile side trip for those staying at the hut.
