Renowned for its insulated jackets, Patagonia is now making sleeping bags for the first time in its 45-year history.

The three-season hiking-specific 850 Down Sleeping Bag ($779.99) weighs a remarkable 734g and features 850-fill power traceable goose down. It has a comfort rating of -10C.

The weight is achieved, mostly, through using ripstop Pertex Quantum fabric that is nearly half the weight of other fabrics used in Patagonia’s down range. Another striking feature is the half-length centre zipper – which is said to make it easier to get in and out of. A low profile hood and footbox round out the features.
