#microchallenge11: Find an unusual stone

$100 Back Country Cuisine Voucher winner

Janet Goodman found this ‘heart of stone’ in the Maruia River. Janet wins a $100 voucher from the Walk1200km food partner, Back Country Cuisine.

Kristina Moore found plenty of stones on the Gillespie Lagoon Track near Fox Glacier. The stone track ‘carried on for about 2km until the track hit the stones on the beach’.

Katie Durkmead found some stones in the Marlborough Sounds. “There’s so much difference and variation that you can find from just one stream.”


#microchallenge12: Pick some flowers

While walking up the Young Valley with three of his sons, Duane Ashman found some flowers for his wife Sarah who was back in Makarora looking after fourth son Zach who had broken his leg. Duan’e Feniz headlamp is supplied by Walk1200km Safety Partner Plan My Walk

Valerie Coulter added her own twist to the #microchallenge by making a bouquet out of driftwood, feathers and other dried vegetation.

Bridget Bruorton and her daughter Sasha picked a handful of colours on a track above Lyttleton on the Port Hills.
