Riding over Percy Saddle in Fiordland is one of the more challenging and rewarding cycling trips that can be done in New Zealand. During a section where there is no option but to carry your bike, I spotted this kea. Photographing it in the wilderness made a nice change to the images of the birds pestering people for food at places like Arthur’s Pass.
