Dachstein's Torstein GTX

Austrian boot brand Dachstein is now available in New Zealand, distributed through Outfitters.

Established in 1925, Dachstein claims to combine “urban style with alpine functionality” and produces a range of tramping boots.

One of the most recent releases is a new three-four season boot. Produced in Europe, the Dachstein Torstein GTX Graphite ($499.95) is an extra-stable backpacking boot, with a higher-cut shaft for a firm fit on uneven terrain. Dachstein says it is suitable for tramping through tough terrain with a heavy load.

The boot is light for a three-four season model, weighing in at 1380g. The boot also has a waterproof/breathable Gore-Tex membrane.
