We began our climb of the south-east ridge of Boanerges, 2254m, in Ruataniwha Conservation Park,  in the early hours. We broke through the low cloud, and the rocky ridge gave way to snow just as the sun began to rise.

Camera settings:Olympus OMD E-M1, ISO 400, f8, 1/100.
