Former staff writer Maina Perrot has returned to the sunny shores of Tahiti. Taking over from her is Josh Gale, who completed a postgraduate diploma in journalism at AUT University in 2010 where he won two awards for a story published by the New Zealand Herald.

Josh enjoys being in the outdoors and last year completed the Tongariro Crossing with his wife Juliana. “Every year for the last few years we’ve made the journey to Cape Reinga because of the incredible sense of replenishment it gives us’ Josh said. “We enjoy camping and going on long tramps, especially coastal walks.

“I look forward to getting out into the wilderness more often now that it’s in my job description!”

Josh welcomes readers to send him an email if they have any ideas or stories they’d like to share.
