DOC and Bike Wanaka have opened the Deans Bank multi-use track on public conservation land between Albert Town and Dublin Bay in Wanaka.

“The track opening is the culmination of two years’ work and has cost $40,000 which has been raised through various charitable organisations and local businesses,” said Bike Wanaka President, Mark Gould. “Even with contractors completing the bulk of the earthwork, a number of volunteer hours were required to form the track.”

The track has been designed as an 11.5km loop suitable for riders of all abilities.

“It has been designed by local members of Bike Wanaka and has been built with fun in mind,” Gould said.
