At 35, Elke Braun-Elwert is one of the youngest IFMGA mountain guides in the country. She’s also an NZSIA ski instructor and assistant director of Lake Tekapo-based Alpine Recreation. “I’m looking forward to winter and lots of fun ski-mountaineering adventures,” Braun-Elwert says. She has a busy season ahead, including guiding a trans-alpine ski tour from the Godley Glacier in Aoraki/Mt Cook National Park to Fox Glacier on the West Coast.
