#microchallenge22: Draw a map of your walk

We tasked participants to illustrate a map of the walk they do most often.

Partner Prize: Back Country Cuisine voucher

Winning entry: Justine Pedersen’s amazingly detailed map takes us on a tour of Havelock North and includes such landmarks as Te Mata Peak, Gallipoli Pine and the Little and Giant Redwoods.

 

Jan Clayton-Greene doodled a map of Renwick that includes a skate park, fire station, supermarket and petrol station.

#microchallenge23: Share a landmark from your walk

Partner prize: Bridgedale Midweight Merino Performance Fit socks winner!

Winning entry: Susan Duncan used a wet Nelson day to visit the centre of New Zealand monument. “Who would have known a wet day in Nelson could be so much fun,” she said.

Christine Reader visited the Te Matou a Pohe bridge in Whangarei. “Every day I feel incredibly lucky to live where I do, in a small suburb on our local mountain (Parihaka) close to the centre of Whangarei,’ she said.

Lynne Kroening climbed 12km on the Waimate Walkway to visit the Clydesdale Monument which ‘commemorates the many draught horses which did so much for the development and prosperity of New Zealand’.

#microchallenge24: Photograph the sunrise

Partner prize: A 1600-lumen Fenix HM70R rechargeable headlamp

Winning entry: Emilia Liebert and her dad Robert camped at Mt Fyffe Hut and got to watch the sun rise over the Kaikōura Peninsula. “Emelia creates the perfect silhouette as the sun comes up,” said Robert.

Tim Sutton and friends were up early to traverse the ridge between Jumbo Peak and Angle Knob in Tararua Forest Park.

Lisa Ainley climbed Mt Thomas before dawn with a friend just to watch the sunrise. “What better way to start the last work day of the week,” she said.
