Let's '(virtually) climb Aoraki Mt Cook together this month!

In each issue, three new #microchallenges are set to add interest and silliness to your kilometres.

These three fun #microchallenges will help you to appreciate your surroundings and have fun on
your walks. Our favourite six #microchallenge completers receive a money-can’t-buy limited edition Walk1200km badge, and the best entry for each challenge receives a prize from our partners.

#microchallenge4: Aoraki anywhere

Do walks with a total elevation gain equal to or greater than the height of Aoraki – 3724m – in 30 days or less. Because this challenge will require you to achieve a daily average elevation of 124m, it’s going to help you cement your habit of walking! Submit a photo of yourself from your favourite walk along with your tally. #microchallenge4

Partner prize: A pair of AKU Flyrock shoes worth $385!

Find something to lap on your next walk!

#microchallenge5: Do a lap of something

Do a walk that circles something, such as a hill, a ridge, a field or park, a park, a lake or a pond. Photograph yourself on the walk and tell us what you lapped. #microchallenge5

Partner prize: A $100 Back Country Cuisine Voucher.

Winning this challenge would be a real feather in your cap.

#microchallenge6: Find a feather

In Māori mythology, feathers symbolise mana, high status, and a spiritual connection to Tāne, god of the forest. Keep a sharp eye out for one on your next walk, photograph it, and share where you found it.
#microchallenge6

Partner prize: A pair of Bridgedale Midweight Merino Performance Fit socks!
