Featured: Kovea Alpine Pot Wide $219.99

Thinking of buying a stove system that’s not the Jetboil Flash 1.0? Here are three others to consider.

MSR Windburner

$449.99 | 432g

With its enclosed radiant burner design and pressure regulator, the Windburner is a class-leading performer in windy and exposed conditions. The lock-on pot has a heat exchanger and this, combined with MSR’s award-winning Reactor design, makes for impressive boil times. It has less heat output, meaning boil time is a little slower than the Flash, but in windy conditions it’s superior. The pot has a cosy with handle and a lid with drinking and straining ports, and the package includes a 470ml bowl and canister stand.

Kovea Alpine Pot Wide

$219.99 | 587g

The wide 1100ml pot of this integrated stove provides a little more cooking versatility than narrower pot designs while still being safe and easy to use in exposed or confined places. While not as powerful as the Flash, it has many similar features such as a neoprene pot cosy, a heat exchanger and an included plastic cup. It also has a folding handle, a control knob and a mesh storage bag.

Firemaple Petrel

$139.99 | 162g

Both ultralight and affordable, this compact and convenient stove system features a heat-exchanger pot that anchors to the burner unit via three slots, although it doesn’t lock in place. The minimalist burner unit nests in the pot, which includes a removable handle, lid and internal measurement markings. The light 600ml pot can be used with other stoves.
