Wilderness is looking for an advertising salesperson who can tell the Wilderness story and share our success with the many brands and businesses that share the outdoor space with us.

You’ll be an ace communicator, self-motivated, enjoy talking to people and finding out about their business and understand the magazine, its content and who its current and potential advertisers are.

We’re flexible – it could be a part-time or full-time position – and because all our staff work remotely, we’re not fussed where in NZ you live.

You’ll be working closely with the editor to identify and develop new opportunities and to manage existing clients.

To be successful, you’ll need to have an understanding of the outdoor industry – the brands, companies and services.

You’ll be working on the Walk1200km challenge, Wildcard partnerships, special features, gear guides, directory and run of mag advertising.

  • Your primary responsibility will be to sell print and digital advertising. To meet sales targets, and to grow our advertiser base while managing existing clients
  • You’ll be responsible for signing up partners to the Walk1200km challenge
  • You’ll need to expand the Wilderness WildCard
  • You’ll need to know how to talk marketing and business opportunities with companies within and outside the core industry. You’ll need to have a firm understanding of the benefits of print and digital media and how advertising in a special interest magazine with a loyal readership can work for the magazine’s clients
  • The outdoor industry is peopled with interesting entrepreneurs whom you’ll meet regularly, many face-to-face. Depending on your location, you will be required to visit Wellington, Christchurch and Auckland.

If you would like to find out more about the role, please email editor@lifestylepublishing.co.nz along with your CV and a letter of introduction.
