As the Walk1200km Facebook group can attest, taking photos on walks is a must. We’ll be giving away four Lumix TZ90 cameras over the next 12 months. Every three months we’ll start a new photo competition themed around the seasons: Summer, Autumn, Winter and Spring. First up is Summer. Simply take your best summer-themed photos on your walks.
But what makes a good photo? We’re looking for images that celebrate walking: beautiful views, happy people, achievement, wildlife. Tip: the best photos have a clear subject and people make a very compelling subject! Tip: Always submit hi-res photos – don’t reduce their size to make it easier to email – we need the original image.

Photos submitted to the photo comp can be used by Wilderness and Walk1200km free of charge to promote the challenge. Photos used by Wilderness for other means unrelated to the Walk1200km challenge will be paid at our usual photo rates.
