The track ascends from the car park in Victoria Domain through regenerating native forest to a viewpoint about halfway along the track.

The trail is broad and the views of the sea excellent.

From the viewpoint the trail drops slowly along the peninsula to arrive at sea level at the north-eastern extremity where further views of the sound and into Waikawa Bay’s hidden holiday homes are obtained.
