Immerse yourself in this isolated sub-alpine area with a relatively easy jaunt up to Lake Stream Hut.

Situated on the bushline, the hut is reached after several hours padding steadily uphill through mossy beech forest.

The track follows the course of the river at one point and several river crossings are necessary.

Take the chance to enjoy the isolation of the area with longer trips up to Lake Christabel and Mt Haast.
