INFO
|
A walk to an old log hauler up Sheridan Creek possible when the Waiotauru River isn't in flood as there are no bridges in the vicinity. Cross the Waiotauru at the bottom of the DOC campground at Otaki Gorge Road. A cairn on the other side marks the point where a ground trail can be followed across the scrubby flats towards Sheridan Creek. A cut track starts at the edge of the taller trees on the true right of Sheridan Creek. In places the track follows the old tramline, and in places you need to wade in the stream.
