Wilderness has been published by Lifestyle Publishing since September 1991, initially as a bi-monthly but since March 1992 as a monthly.
Every issue has chronicled the New Zealand outdoors in all its forms. The magazine struck a cord with both readers and advertisers from its very first issue and some readers and advertisers have been with Wilderness since the beginning. It’s been a fascinating journey as readers and advertisers have watched the magazine grow, gaining acceptance and credibility along the way.
Lifestyle Publishing was established in November 1991 as a publisher of special interest magazines. It has published titles covering automotive, motorcycle, surfing, windsurfing, boating, house and garden and camping interests and currently owns Wilderness, fetch!, alfresco and NZ Outside.
